How to choose Gymnastics Apparatus?
Ako vybrať gymnastické náčinie?
When preparing a program in Rhythmic Gymnastics, it is of significant importance to consistently choose not only the leotord for each gymnastic rooutine but also the Rhythmic Gymnastics Apparatus which the gymnast uses for performance. Only in this case will the image be perfect and harmonious, and the gymnast can show off her mastery in competitions as the result of many years of intensive training.

How to properly select, measure and shorten the Rope for Rhythmic Gymnastics?

Currently, there is a wide variety of modern gymnastics ropes varying in hardness, thickness, weight and length. SASAKI, CHACOTT, VENTURELLI, AMAYA and PASTORELI - professional manufacturers of Rhythmic Gymnastics Apparatus - pride themselves on their ropes being heavy enough to fly well, but also soft enough not to hurt the legs when a mistake is made. Such nylon gymnastics ropes are very comfortable for modern gymnastics.

Standard Rhythmic Gymnastic Rope is usually 3 meters long. It is necessary to shorten the rope according to the height of the gymnast for comfortable training. The procedure for correctly measuring the length of the gymnastic rope is as follows: on the middle part of the Gymnastics Rope, and the rope is tightened up to the girl’s shoulders. Make knots in the required places. A rhythmic gymnastic rope with bound knots should reach armpit level! After tying the knots, the gymnast uses the rope to make sure the length is suitable. Then, shorten the rope at the places behind the knots and burn the trimmed ends with fire so they do not unravel. Knots on the SASAKI, CHACOTT, VENTURELLI, and AMAYA ropes are easy to bind and hold firmly. The PASTORELI jump rope is harder, so it is recommended not only to bind the knots and to burn the ends, but also to sew them with a thread to avoid unravelling. It is advisable to shorten the gymnastic rope on both sides so as not to change its balance, and it is also necessary to bind the knots at both ends in the same manner!
The Rhythmic Gymnastic Rope should be stored in a holder for gymnastic rope to avoid staining and entanglement in the bag. If the nylon jump rope gets dirty, it can be washed manually or in a washing machine using a “Fine Wash” mode.

How to properly select and store a hoop for modern gymnastics?

Hoops for Rhythmic Gymnastic are of different sizes: from 60 cm to 90 cm, increasing by 5 cm. A 60 cm hoop is usually suitable for gymnasts aged 3-6 years, 65 cm: 6-7 years, 70 cm: 7-8 years, 75 cm: 8-9 years, 80 cm: 10-12 years, 85 cm and 90 cm: 12 or more depending on height. To select the ideal gymnastic hoop, measure the distance from floor to pelvis (2 cm below the navel). This distance is the diameter of the gymnastic hoop that should be suitable. If a gymnast would like to get a larger hoop in the event of a grow spurt, the distance from floor to navel should be measured. However, it is best to consult the choice with your coach.
The gymnastic hoop must be stored in a special holder for hoop, where it will not become dirty and will be comfortable to carry. It is important to note that gymnastic hoops should ideally be stored in a horizontal position, since keeping them in a vertical position may lead to their flattening.
The colour range of gymnastic hoops is selected for each gymnast individually so that it complements the image of her performance on the carpet. Hoops can be adorned with acrylic paints or covered with special colourful tapes for gymnastic hoops. It is necessary that such a gymnastic hoop be covered with a protective layer of transparent tape.
